Comprehensive Health Investigation - A Functional Medicine Approach
If your health problems aren’t improving, we help you find answers.
Your journey to recovery and restored health begins here.
Healthcare needs can take different forms. Sometimes the focus is on treating urgent symptoms and bringing relief — and that is an essential part of care.
But other times, you need to step back and ask a deeper question: why are these symptoms happening in the first place?
We help people with complex or chronic health concerns — situations where symptoms are persistent, unexplained, or don’t fully resolve with standard care.
You know your body.
We help you understand why it’s struggling.

Functional medicine takes a different approach to health.
It looks beyond symptoms to uncover the root causes of illness using advanced testing. The aim is to restore balance and optimise how the body functions, both in treating existing problems and preventing future ones. It sees the body as an interconnected system, shaped by genetics, environment, diet, stress and lifestyle factors.
A key part of this approach is the doctor–patient relationship. Your doctor works alongside you throughout the journey, taking the time to listen, understand, and guide your care with ongoing support.

The types of health problems we can help you with
You might have a long list of symptoms but no clear diagnosis. Maybe you’ve been given a diagnosis or ‘label,’ but with little explanation of what it really means or what to do next.
Perhaps you’ve been told that nothing else can be done, or you’ve tried multiple medications that didn’t help - or left you with unwanted side effects.
Wherever you are right now, our approach is about looking deeper - finding the underlying causes and helping you move forward with clarity and support.
-
Autoimmune problems often produce a patchwork of symptoms: fatigue, joint or muscle pain, skin rashes, digestive issues, low-grade fevers, or sensitivity to cold and heat.
Symptoms may flare and then subside, affecting multiple systems of the body and sometimes shifting over time, which can make diagnosis difficult and frustrating.
Some examples of autoimmune conditions include Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohns Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Lupus (SLE) Psoriasis.
-
Widespread pain affecting muscles, joints, or connective tissue, often described as aching, burning, or stabbing. Pain can move around the body and worsen with stress, poor sleep, or weather changes.
Tender points, stiffness, restless legs, headaches, gut issues, and overwhelming fatigue frequently occur alongside the pain, making daily life unpredictable.
-
Constant exhaustion that doesn’t improve with rest. Brain fog, poor concentration, headaches, dizziness, or feeling “wired but tired” at night are common.
Symptoms can persist for months or years, even when routine medical tests show no abnormalities.
-
Recurring bloating, abdominal pain, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, or alternating bowel habits. Some notice food triggers, nausea, or early fullness after eating.
These symptoms may come and go in cycles, interfere with daily activities, and are often labelled as “IBS” especially when multiple tests have been done and no obvious cause is found.
-
Clusters of vague or shifting symptoms that don’t fit neatly into one diagnosis. These can include dizziness, palpitations, numbness or tingling, headaches, blurred vision, temperature intolerance, or flu-like symptoms.
Such symptoms may come and go, change location, or fluctuate in severity, often leaving people feeling dismissed or misunderstood.
-
Irregular, heavy or painful menstrual cycles, hot flushes and night sweats, acne, hair loss, unwanted hair growth, mood swings, low libido, or fertility struggles.
For some, symptoms are linked to PCOS, endometriosis, menopause, thyroid changes, or low testosterone.
These imbalances often affect energy, metabolism, weight, and emotional wellbeing.
-
Difficulty falling asleep, waking frequently, or feeling unrefreshed even after a full night in bed.
Insomnia, nightmares, restless legs, choking in your sleep or excessive snoring may be present. Poor sleep often leads to daytime fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, and worsening of other symptoms such as pain or digestive upset.
-
Difficulty losing or maintaining weight despite repeated efforts with diet and exercise. Weight changes may occur alongside fatigue, low mood, disrupted sleep, cravings, or hormonal fluctuations (such as irregular periods, thyroid changes, or blood sugar problems).
Many people describe feeling as though their body is “working against them.”
-
Uncertainty when a diagnosis feels incomplete, contradictory, or doesn’t explain ongoing symptoms.
Some have been told “nothing more can be done,” while others feel misdiagnosed or brushed aside.
Seeking a second opinion is common for those still searching for clarity, reassurance, or a broader explanation of what’s happening.

Get to know Dr Singh
In 2014, I left my role in the NHS and spent seven years working as a Functional Medicine GP in Australia.
When I returned to the UK in 2022 and entered private practice, I was struck by how many people were struggling with increasingly complex health concerns - issues that rarely resolve with short consultations or single-discipline approaches.
Even though private GP appointments offer more time than standard NHS care, I found that patients with chronic or unexplained conditions often need much longer and benefit from a more holistic, multi-faceted approach.
Conventional medicine is essential, but by also considering functional and complementary perspectives, it becomes possible to explore the root causes of ongoing symptoms and give people clearer options for their next steps.
This service was created specifically for those facing complex or chronic health problems - giving them the extra time, clarity, and joined-up thinking needed to move forward.
My focus is on helping patients uncover underlying causes, regain control, and achieve better long-term outcomes for their health and wellbeing.

FAQs
-
Whether you have a chronic or a complex health issue - we can help you.
A chronic health condition is a long-term illness that persists over time, often for months or years. Common examples include diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. These conditions are typically manageable and sometimes curable.
A complex health condition can be either long-standing or newly developed, but it involves multiple factors that make it more difficult to diagnose or treat. It often includes several symptoms or conditions that interact with each other, making it more challenging to pinpoint the exact cause. Examples could include autoimmune disorders or conditions with multiple unexplained symptoms.
-
Yes, both can be treated, but treatment may involve different approaches. Chronic conditions often require ongoing care, while complex conditions may require a more holistic and detailed approach to address multiple factors.
-
Functional medicine aims to address the root cause of illness rather than just treating symptoms, with a focus on restoring balance and optimising function to prevent and treat disease.
It looks at the body as a whole system, considering factors like genetics, environment, and lifestyle choices that can influence health.
Instead of relying solely on medication, functional medicine uses a combination of diet, exercise, supplements, and stress management techniques to promote overall wellness and address underlying imbalances in the body.

Appointments can be in person or remote. Dr Singh recommends in-person appointments where possible, but remote consultations are also effective. However, Dr Singh may request an in-person appointment if a clinical examination is needed.
